Next Generation Midwifery provides complete maternity services and well woman care. During the childbearing year, my services include:

  • prenatal appointments (every 4 weeks until the 28th week of pregnancy, every 2 weeks until you reach 36 weeks, then every week until the baby is born)

  • lab work

  • childbirth education

  • labor support

  • initial newborn exam

  • 3-4 postpartum check-ups, including a home visit at 2-days postpartum

  • newborn screening test

  • filing of the state birth certificate

  • pap smear at the last visit

My journey to midwifery began when I was only 12 years old. A friend invited me to her birth at the midwife's home. It was a beautiful, uncomplicated, (quick!) experience, and I was filled with awe at God's miraculous design for birth! More than a decade passed until I had the opportunity to apprentice at Family Birth Services in TX. I studied there for almost 20 months and also cross-trained with Molly Germash of Heart's Desire Midwifery Care for 3 months. Concurrently I was completing the academic work of the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program. After graduating last fall, I sat for the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) exam in February 2009. I am now a Certified Professional Midwife, and I'm licensed in TX and VA.

I look forward to meeting you to discover how I can best serve you during this amazing time in your life!
